ATZE HAYTSMA
Atze Haytsma, born Atze Bergsma (NL, 1929), is a Dutch sculptor, photographer and poet.
He took several art courses but did not start working as an independent artist until later in life. The female body was his great inspiration. In Amsterdam, he lived in the same house as Lucebert and Fritzi Harmsen van Beek. There he also came into contact with other Cobra artists such as Karel Appel, but Atze stuck to figurative art all his life.
