Art has always been an essential part of who I am. After graduating from the High School of Fine Arts in Athens and studying Art History at university, I developed a deep appreciation for fine art photography and the powerful role galleries play in sharing culture and creativity.
My experience working in both galleries and museums has given me a strong foundation in the inner workings of exhibitions—from installation and takedown to engaging with visitors and offering thoughtful insights about the artists and their work. I love creating a welcoming and inspiring environment where people can connect with art on a deeper level.
Over time, I’ve developed strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for sharing visual stories. I’m also eager to support the promotion of exhibitions and events, and I’m always looking for new ways to connect art with a wider audience.
Being part of a gallery that celebrates fine art photography feels like a natural extension of my personal and professional journey. It’s a space where I can combine my love for art with a dedication to creating meaningful cultural experiences.

Roy Kahmann
Founder
Roy Kahmann, born in 1959, is a leading figure in Dutch and international art photography. His career spans roles as a gallery owner, collector, publisher, and designer, all dedicated to advancing photography as a respected art form.
Kahmann's journey into photography began in the 1970s with the purchase of a photograph by Ed van der Elsken, igniting his passion for collecting. This marked the start of an impressive and extensive collection. After years in design and advertising, he founded Kahmann Gallery in 2005, which has since become one of Europe's foremost photography galleries. The gallery represents both vintage and contemporary photographers, showcasing the work of over 30 artists and regularly participating in major international fairs.
In addition to the gallery, Kahmann has launched two photography-centered initiatives: Haute Photographie, a distinctive fair presented as a museum-style exhibition, and Haute Auctions, an innovative digital auction platform providing collectors with access to fine art photography in its broadest scope.
Kahmann has also made a significant impact as the publisher of GUP Magazine (Guide to Unique Photography), which he founded in 2005. Published quarterly and distributed in more than 30 countries, GUP Magazine has become a vital platform for emerging talent and offers insights into the contemporary photography scene.
Kahmann remains deeply committed to fostering new talent. Through projects such as Collectibles and FRESH EYES, he supports emerging photographers across Europe, offering visibility and guidance as they navigate the art world. His dedication to collecting has resulted in a personal archive of nearly 10,000 original works, cementing his reputation as a passionate advocate for photography.
Roy Kahmann’s extensive engagement through his gallery, publishing, mentorship, and art fairs makes him a unique and influential figure in fine art photography, whose endeavors continue to enrich and expand the photography market.
